Inferno was first commissioned to and destroy the , an extremist group composed of former members of 's that were not present with Saw on after the . They were later utilized again by AdmiralGarrick Versio, father of Iden, as part of Operation: Cinder of the secret Contingency when he received a Messenger after the Battle of Endor. When Operation: Cinder targeted Vardos, Iden and Del Meeko went rogue and defected to the New Republic. Gideon Hask, however, remained with Garrick and the Empire.
